Engineering

NIIturbokompressor (NIITK) is a leading in Russia and the CIS R&D institute on engineering a wide range of compressor systems and compressor-based integrated solutions.

KEY FACTS AND FIGURES

  • Over 420 compressor series developed within 50 years
  • More than 4,800 centrifugal and more than 17,800 screw compressor units manufactured by the NIITK’s projects
  • Over 60 countries supplied with compressor equipment designed by NIITK

NIIturbokompressor accumulated a wealth of experience in the development and engineering of compressor equipment of any complexity.

High quality and manufacturability of the design solutions are provided by contemporary engineering methods:

  • Computer-aided 3D modeling of parts and components
  • Calculation of geometric, thermodynamic, and dynamic parameters of rotary screw oil-free and oil-filled compressors using own unique software
  • Gas-dynamic calculations of centrifugal compressors are carried out using modern computer systems and methods:
    • Thermal gas-dynamic calculation of compressors by dimensionless characteristics of the stages
    • Thermal gas-dynamic calculation by characteristics of the stage elements (impeller, diffuser, etc.) considering the real properties of compressible gas
    • Software for control and acquisition of the gas-dynamic data on the test bench with the subsequent processing and obtaining of dimensionless characteristics

The institute has its own pilot production facilities, as well as unique test bench of 39 stands arranged in eight specialized bays.

All technical solutions are based on the principles of high energy efficiency, reliability and manufacturability, and fully respect and implement in practice the requirements of the customer.
