Scientific Activity

NIIturbokompressor counts more than 350 highly skilled employees, including 260 certified engineers, two doctors and 10 candidates of technical sciences.

Scientific activities of the Institute include a full cycle of development and design of compressors and integrated solutions: computational and experimental studies, product design, process study, pre-production testing, and fine-tuning of prototypes.

There are almost 10 researches are actively carried out, which are regularly discussed in the scientific and technical council with participation of the leading experts from NIIturbokompressor, Kazancompressormash, and Kazan State Technology University.

MAIN DIRECTIONS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES:

  • Development of methods for calculating the characteristics of centrifugal compressors and their optimization
  • Improvement of the flow paths for a number of stages in centrifugal compressors using three-dimensional viscous flow with subsequent experimental fine-tuning the basic concepts
  • Creation of new stands for the experimental material for the study of the flow characteristics of the elements of centrifugal compressors
  • Perfection Profile rotors of screw compressors to improve the energy performance
  • Influence of design and parameters of the screw compressor on its vibration status
  • Improvement of surge protection and control of centrifugal compressors
  • Mathematical models and methods for calculating the rotors dynamics with electromagnetic bearings
  • Optimization of centrifugal compressors with electromagnetic bearings and development of methods to increase vibration resistance of the rotors by optimization of the electromagnetic bearings control circuits
  • Development of the dry gas-dynamic seals for high pressure centrifugal compressors (over 145 bar)
